Stan Lee, Don Heck and Jack Kirby’s comic book dates back to 1963, this film only as far as 2008. The talented and fascinating Robert Downey Jr. plays a millionaire genius inventor who is charming and dedicated to charity. After being knocked unconscious and undergoing a type of transplant, he creates an invincible suit of armour. The villain is played by an extraordinary Jeff Bridges. Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard complete the cast. This adrenaline fuelled film by Jon Favreau is both entertaining and competent in giving new life to one of Marvel Comics historic characters.
