Archaeologist and explorer extrodinaire Lara Croft journeys to a temple sunken underwater that leads to a sphere that contains the mythical Pandora's Box, only to have it stolen from her by Chen Lo, the leader of a Chinese crime syndicate, who's in league with a villian named Reiss who wants to use the Box as a doomsday weapon. It is the story of the gorgeous Lara who sets out to find a relic that can control the flow of time. Angelina Jolie is perfect in the clothes of the adventuress, and Simon West’s direction doesn’t lose a beat orchestrating explosions, breathtaking set pieces and races against time. The American diva did most of her stunts and ended up with quite a few real injuries. The sequel is “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”
