Play4film's point of view:
“The Spiderwick Chronicle” is a fantasy film about two twins and their older sister. As so often happens in films belonging to this genre, the enchanted world, which must be passed through among monsters and dangers, is one side of a coin whose other side is a difficult family situation. In fact, in this case, the kids’ parents are about to get divorced. Aunt Lucinda’s house which is dusty and old, as in all fables, and an old book help them to get through a period which is, in theory, anything but pleasant. “The Spiderwich Chronicle” is wonderful from a graphic point of view and is great fun for kids of all ages.
